About Lisa Weedn
Throughout her prolific writing career, Lisa Weedn authored many of the most successful gift and stationery products in the industry. Millions of her greeting cards, calendars, and licensed gift, home and lifestyle products have sold worldwide for over three decades. Lisa co-authored with her mother, Flavia Weedn, seventy gift books, a collection of guided journals for pre-teen girls, and a series of children's books for Hyperion Books for Children. Their works have won prestigious parenting awards and were used in inner-city youth programs and school curriculum as an integral part of ethics and self-esteem programs throughout the world.
Lisa's most recent work blends her love of the written word with her passion for bold color and design. Free splashes of color reveal Lisa's fresh interpretation of well-loved icons, positive subtleties and simple messages of good will.
"I was raised to be an observer... to value simple beauty, lived-in spaces and loved-up things. I've had paint on my hands for as long as I can remember and am grateful for sharing my mother's passion for color, texture, loosely drawn imperfect lines and uncomplicated words that sing. From an early age, I was taught to be unafraid to spill my feelings on canvas and paper and wood. This freedom has shown me how art and words have the power to heal, inspire, comfort, and help connect us to one another."
